Dr. Tasha M. Brown is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of New York, parent consultant, and speaker who specializes in providing clinical care to children, adolescents, and young adults. She provides a wide variety of evidence-based clinical services and is passionate about helping the individuals she works with function adequately at home, school, and in their communities. She gets excited when her clients incorporate skills learned in treatment into their daily lives. Dr. Brown prides herself in being able to provide client centered care with a strength- based approach.
Dr. Brown graduated from Syracuse University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies and Psychology; and minor in African American Studies. In 2013 she received her Master of Arts from DePaul University in Clinical Psychology. She then completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in clinical psychology in 2016 from DePaul University. Dr. Brown then went on to complete her Predoctoral Internship and Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine.

Dr. Brown founded Tasha M. Brown, Ph.d Psychological Services, PLLC. in 2019. In addition to her private practice, she is currently a clinical psychologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and is a faculty member at Columbia University Medical Center, where she serves as an Assistant Professor of Medical Psychology (in Psychiatry).
Dr. Brown is a PCIT International Certified Within Agency trainer in Parent - Child Interaction Therapy and has received training in Parent- Child Interaction Therapy- Toddler (PCIT-T). She specializes in Parent Management Training (PMT) and Cognitive - Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and has treated children and adolescents with significant externalizing behavioral difficulties for several years. Dr. Brown treats children and adolescents who present with clinical concerns such as significant disruptive behavior, inattention and hyperactivity, depression, anxiety, and difficulties adjusting to life changes. In her work with children and adolescents, Dr. Brown seeks to create a working relationship with caregivers in order to improve the overall functioning of her clients.
Dr. Brown also works with young adults dealing with a range of complex concerns related to life transitions, emerging adulthood, relational/interpersonal problems, relationships, care of aging/sick parents, anxiety, and mood.

In addition to work with children, adolescents, and young adults, Dr. Brown’s expertise also includes school consultation. She has significant experience working with schools, including professional development trainings, consultation, and coaching of teachers and administrators.
Dr. Brown has published work related to Parent - Child Interaction Therapy, depression prevention for adolescent girls, and school consultation.
